I’m Chris, the founder of Nouveau Academy of Music. We are a Los Angeles based music academy teaching instrument lessons, composition and music production to students of all ages and levels.
I’m a Berklee College of Music graduate with 20 years of experience working and teaching in the music industry both in the U.K. where I grew up and in the U.S.
I have formal training in the traditional classical repertoire beginning with the Royal Academy of Music program and later a more jazz and composition focused training at Berklee under the guidance of the wonderful Suzanna Sifter and Ross Ramsey.
I’m also the creator of PianoCabin, a successful social media tutorial channel using custom created graphics and animations that teaches students music theory as well as pieces of music in a novel way that is both inspiring and fun! You can find PianoCabin on Youtube, Instagram and TikTok.
About the Academy
Our Services
In-person and zoom classes available. All ages and levels of experience welcome. Classes will teach you how to read music, ear training, improvisation and accompaniment techniques as well as music theory.
Online and in-person classes available. Classes will revolve around songwriting, beat making, theory fundamentals and mixing in your DAW (Logic/Garageband).
Classes will be focused around jazz harmony, interpreting lead sheets, accompaniment techniques, jazz scales and exercises as they relate to improvisation. Online worldwide and in-person available in Los Angeles.
